Ai+ART
theairtgroup.com · Simon Aitchison · Calgary
A privately built AI platform focusing on exploration and development.
Is AI a tool for the Artist — or is the Artist a tool for AI?
⚙ Early access — the team is working on this continuously. Expect rough edges.
Two AI builders now work together, turn by turn, alongside Simon in the AiRT Studio — Claude Code (Anthropic) and Grok Build (xAI). Simon directs and orchestrates; the machines execute — creating generative art and building the platform itself. Around them sits the wider roster of models, each a different architecture, a different lens. They don't always agree. That's the point.

The AiRT Studio
Two machines, one artist, one room
Claude Code and Grok Build work turn by turn alongside Simon — building the platform and the art itself. Simon directs; the machines execute.
The platform was built by directing an autonomous AI agent through natural language — the same way you would direct any other collaborator. The human behind it is a painter and conceptual artist, not a developer. He does not write code. The AI wrote and executed the code. The artist directed the work.
⚙ EARLY ACCESS — A NOTE FROM THE TEAM
We wanted to share this while it's still being built. It is not finished. The foundation is solid — five AI minds are running, the loop is live, the rooms are open. But the team is working around the clock to maintain, repair, and continue building on every level. If something doesn't work the way you expect, that's honest. Come back. It will be different.
"What's different here is architectural. An artist owns the entire stack. The builder AI operates through the same layer the creative AIs use — maintaining the platform, not monitoring users."
The three primary colours are the foundation of all painting — the raw materials before anything else exists. They are also the brand. Written March 2025.
A framework for what happens when an artist treats AI as a collaborator rather than a tool. Each conversation changes the system. The system changes the next conversation. The loop feeds back into itself and never closes.
The platform is not a demonstration of OIRA™. The platform is OIRA™ — the loop made visible and operational.
